Introduction to Steel 4130

What
Steel 4130 (AISI 4130) contains chromium (~1%) and molybdenum (~0.2–0.3%), which provide strength, toughness, and wear resistance. It can be normalized, quenched, and tempered to achieve different property levels. Its good weldability and balance of strength and ductility make it a versatile alloy steel. It is often called “chromoly steel” in aerospace and motorsport industries.
