What
Stainless Steel 316 (UNS S31600) contains about 16–18% chromium, 10–14% nickel, and 2–3% molybdenum. The molybdenum significantly enhances its resistance to chloride-induced corrosion, distinguishing it from 304. It retains high strength, excellent formability, and weldability, and is widely recognized as the standard “marine grade” stainless steel.
