Delrin AF combines the mechanical strength of Delrin with the self-lubricating qualities of PTFE, creating a high-performance engineering plastic that excels in sliding and rotating applications. The uniform 13% PTFE filler provides a lower coefficient of friction and reduces wear,enabling longer service life and smoother motion without external lubrication. This makes Delrin AF especially valuable in situations where traditional lubrication is not feasible or where maintenance must be minimized. Despite the PTFE addition, it retains much of Delrin’s inherent strength, stiffness, and machinability.

What
Delrin AF (13% PTFE Filled) is a modified acetal resin designed to reduce friction and extend component life in demanding applications. The PTFE particles are evenly distributed throughout the resin, providing consistent lubricity across the entire material, not just at the surface. This property makes it highly reliable in dry-running conditions, conveyor systems, and components exposed to repetitive sliding contact. It also resists moisture absorption and maintains dimensional stability, which is crucial for precision mechanical parts.
Its ability to combine self-lubrication with mechanical strength distinguishes it from unfilled Delrin and many other plastics.
